Minister of Roads Visits Bushehr Port, Urges Acceleration of Cargo Operations Amid Critical Conditions

MRUDNEWS-Minister of Roads and Urban Development Farzaneh Sadegh, accompanied by a group of deputies and Mohammad Shakibi Nasab, Deputy Minister and Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization, visited Bushehr Port to conduct a field assessment of its capacities, operational capabilities, and ongoing activities, emphasizing the need to accelerate cargo loading and unloading processes and maritime and port service delivery.

Sadegh stated on Tuesday during the visit that the purpose of her presence at Bushehr Port was to conduct a field assessment of existing capacities and accelerate cargo loading and unloading processes under the current special conditions.

"Through planned programs and measures, efforts are being made to ensure all port-related affairs are carried out with greater speed and coordination so that essential goods and other needed commodities are imported, unloaded, and cleared in the shortest possible time," she said.

Emphasizing the strategic position of ports in the country's supply chain, the Minister added: "Ports, as the front line of supplying essential goods and the country's needs, play a crucial role in maintaining economic stability and market calm. Ensuring their smooth and uninterrupted operation is a priority for the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development."

Sadegh expressed appreciation for the efforts of Bushehr's port and maritime employees, managers, and activists, stating: "Bushehr Province's ports, through their round-the-clock operations during the recent critical period, played an irreplaceable role in maintaining maritime trade flow and supporting the country's economy."

Referring to the valuable role of Bushehr Province's ports during the 40-day war, she said: "The activity and dynamism of these ports in loading, unloading, and regular passenger traffic among ports represents a brilliant record and a symbol of steadfastness and resistance on the economic front."

She expressed hope that Bushehr Province's ports, through even greater contributions, would demonstrate their strategic position under the current special conditions.

During the visit, Mohammad Shakibi Nasab presented the latest status of development projects at the Negin Port Complex, operational capacities, cargo loading and unloading activities, vessel entry and exit at Bushehr Port, and measures taken to accelerate port service delivery.
